The handbook of light trapping
New book from Prof. Dr. L. Nowinszky, from Hungary
The author examines insects’ flight for the light, the influential factors of it and the technology of light trapping since more decades.
His present book “The Handbook of Light Trapping” is an augmented and updated variation of his former book (Light Trapping, Savaria University Press, 2000).
Chapter 1 deals with the history of light trapping. In the next chapter it disputes a theme, which is very interesting and ere now quite unclarified: the insect’s flying to the light. Hereinafter it handles with the mechanic devices of the light-trap as a tool, than with the exploitation of the collection’s data. The following suits are the chances of the data’s processing methods.
The most particular and the most exhaustive part of the book is the efficiency of the light-trap as a tool, as well as the efficiency’s qualifying factors. The authors are handling with the factors separately and jointly too.
This book is the utter summary of the light trapping’s letters. Summary work like this doesn’t exist in the international specialist letters as far as I know, so it worth to address the work’s Hungarian and English edition.
